Western Cape Department of Agriculture (WCDoA)
The WCDoA promotes agriculture in all its rich diversity across South Africa’s Western Cape province. We provide development, research and support services to commercial and emerging farmers alike — including veterinary services, soil & water labs, extension support, agricultural training and infrastructure.
Our region spans ~13 million hectares, with about 2 million under cultivation and 320,000 under irrigation. We influence production of wine, deciduous and citrus fruit, grains, vegetables, dairy, meat and livestock, ostrich, fynbos, and alternative crops.
We strive to enhance food safety, export access, sustainability & resilience in all sectors.
