Growpact Global – Turnkey Seedling Nurseries for Africa
Growpact Global develops and scales locally owned vegetable seedling nurseries as a foundation for resilient food systems in Africa. The initiative responds to the rapid adoption of hybrid vegetable seeds, which require professional propagation to unlock their full yield potential. As hybrid seed use grows, the need for reliable, high-quality seedlings becomes essential.
Growpact offers a turnkey nursery solution that combines proven nursery infrastructure, standardized operating systems, hands-on training, and access to finance. Local entrepreneurs are at the center of the model, owning and operating nurseries that supply uniform, healthy seedlings to smallholder and commercial farmers.
Entrepreneurs receive intensive training in horticulture, business management, and leadership at Growpact’s center of excellence in Kitale, Kenya, followed by tailored on-site support for up to three years. Nurseries are designed to be affordable, climate-smart, and commercially viable within five years.
The model accelerates hybrid seed adoption, improves farm productivity, creates jobs - especially for youth and women - and strengthens local agricultural value chains across Africa.
